Drone for architects: site photos, progress tracking and before/after images of your projects

A full view of the plot, the condition of roofs and facades, construction progress, before/after photos for your portfolio: how drone aerial images help architects and engineering firms in Brussels and across Belgium.

Before drawing anything, an architect needs to understand the site: how the building sits on the plot, its neighbours, the access points, the condition of the roof. From the ground you only see part of it. A drone shoot gives a complete view of the plot and the existing buildings in a few minutes, and it is useful at every stage of the project, from the first sketch to handover.

Before the project: understanding the site and what exists

The drone photographs the plot and its surroundings from above: plot boundaries, neighbouring buildings, the scale of the street, trees, access and orientation. These views help you think about the layout and explain the context to your client.

It also shows the condition of existing buildings where it is hard to go: roofs, cornices, chimneys, rear facades, inner courtyards. For a renovation, these images complement the survey and avoid bad surprises when pricing the works.

During construction: documenting every stage

Regular flights from the same viewpoint let you track the progress of the site and keep a dated record of each phase: earthworks, structural work, roof, facades. This is useful for site meetings, for keeping the client informed remotely and, in case of a dispute, for showing what was done and when. We cover this in detail in Drone construction site monitoring.

After handover: images that showcase the project

A finished project deserves great images. A drone offers aerial views and high angles that cannot be taken from the street: the building in its neighbourhood, the green roof, the inner courtyard, a whole housing development.

Combined with images taken before the works, they create a striking before/after for your website, your portfolio, a competition or social media. A short video can also present the project, as we explain in Drone promotional video.

How does a shoot with Skydrone work?

You request a quote through the form on our website: we reply within 48 hours and the quote is free. Together we define what you need (site views, roof details, a progress series, final images) and we check the flight zone. In Brussels, most flights require authorisations, which we take care of (see Can you fly a drone in Brussels?).

On the day, we take high-resolution photos and video, and you receive them via WeTransfer or Google Drive, sorted and ready to use. For progress monitoring, we reuse the same viewpoints on every visit to make comparison easy.
